Artigo Pico ITX OS test install

Got back from my business trip, and decided to try to install Ubuntu on my new Artigo.

First I had to hook up a USB CDROM drive. I then had to get into the BIOS and set it to boot off the USB-CDROM (hold down DEL when you turn the power on to get into the bios). The BIOS screen was cutoff a bit, but I was able to get into the advanced bios settings and set the correct boot parameter. (Update: was able to fix the cutoff bios screen issue by adjusting the horizontal positioning controls on my LCD monitor.)

After that, was able to boot off the Ubuntu CD and start the install process. Unfortunately, the display driver cutoff most of the bottom of the screen, so I couldn't always click on the OK buttons, but I could at least hit return to get me all the major screens...needless to say I just choose the defaults wherever possible.

Anyway, I was finally able to complete the install, reboot without the CD, and get to the desktop, which is really all I wanted to do at this point. I don't think I will be using Ubuntu on this machine permanently, I just wanted to see if I could get any OS to install and boot. Next I will give Windows XP Pro a shot.
