Wednesday August 15, 2007 Dialing the US from Japan with an NTT phone line
I'd been using SkypeOut for all my US calls from Japan, until today. I had an important meeting to dial into, but could not log into Skype. Their home page showed the following:
"Some of you may be having problems logging into Skype. Our engineering team has determined that it’s a software issue. We expect this to be resolved within 12 to 24 hours. "
Arrrg! It was after midnight, my wife was already asleep, and I had never asked how to dial the US via our land line.
After some frantic Googling, I found out that you can dial the US from an NTT land line using the following method:
010-1-AREACODE-AND-PHONE-NUMBER.
I was a bit late, but I did make my call.
